Flying a car between Dubai and Europe takes 24–48 hours door-to-door, and 2–4 days to or from the US, at a typical cost of $15,000–$40,000 per vehicle on European lanes and $25,000–$50,000 on American ones. Cars move on freighter capacity through Dubai World Central (DWC) and Dubai International (DXB) — outbound with UAE export formalities and temporary admission in Europe handled end to end, inbound with UAE customs duty, vehicle clearance, and RTA registration support on arrival.
Dubai is the busiest city for vehicle air freight on earth — in both directions. Every summer, hundreds of supercars leave the Gulf for London, Geneva, and the Côte d’Azur, and every September they come home. Year-round, auction wins from America, first-allocation cars from Europe, and JDM builds from Tokyo fly in. If you’re reading this page, you’re one of four people: an owner planning the season, a buyer whose new car needs to reach Dubai, a seller whose car needs to leave, or a manager handling a fleet. All four end the same way: the car on a pallet, on a freighter, gone — or landed — within days.
Ari Jets arranges the whole movement from one conversation — collection at your villa or storage facility, export, flight, clearance, and delivery to the destination garage.
The Gulf-to-Europe migration is the most established lane in car air freight, and it runs on a calendar:
February–April: booking window. Freighter capacity out of Dubai in late May and June is finite and sells forward. Owners who book in this window choose their dates; owners who call in mid-May take what’s left, at short-notice pricing (typically 25–50% above standard rates).
Late May–June: outbound peak. Cars fly DWC/DXB → London Stansted, Geneva, Nice, Frankfurt. Enclosed collection in Dubai, roughly 6–8 hours in the air, delivery to the London or Geneva garage often the next day.
June–August: the season. The car enters the UK or EU under temporary admission — no import duty, no VAT — legal for a visiting owner for up to six months. Your paperwork, arranged before departure, is what makes this clean.
September: the return. The leg most owners forget to plan and then scramble for. We book the round trip as one arrangement — outbound slot, return slot, both customs processes — so September is a confirmation, not a crisis.
The multi-car reality: at three or more vehicles, shared or dedicated charter positions often beat individual bookings. A family garage of five cars can move as one coordinated lift.
| Destination | Typical per-vehicle cost | Door-to-door time |
|---|---|---|
| London (Stansted/Heathrow) | $14,000 – $28,000 | 24–48 hours |
| Geneva / Zurich | $16,000 – $30,000 | 24–48 hours |
| Nice / Paris / Frankfurt | $15,000 – $30,000 | 24–48 hours |
| US East Coast (New York, Miami) | $20,000 – $36,000 | 2–4 days |
| US West Coast (Los Angeles) | $26,000 – $40,000 | 2–4 days |
| Riyadh / Doha / regional GCC | $10,000 – $20,000 | Same day – 48 hours |
| Inbound to Dubai (US/EU/Japan) | Same lane pricing + 5% UAE duty on CIF for permanent imports | 1–4 days |
| Round trip (summer season, booked together) | Ask — booking both legs together prices better than two spot bookings | — |
the car’s footprint on the pallet (a Rolls-Royce Cullinan occupies more chargeable space than a 911), scheduled freighter space versus dedicated charter, season (May–June outbound and September return are peak), and how much notice you give. Fuel and security surcharges — typically 20–40% of base — are included in any serious quote.
For comparison: sea freight from Jebel Ali to the UK runs $2,500–$6,000 but takes 3–5 weeks, travels in a shared container or open RoRo deck, and hands your car to a dozen port crews along the way. For a daily driver, fine. For the car this page is about, that math rarely survives contact with the owner.
The UAE side is straightforward when sequenced correctly — and a mess when it isn’t:
Total elapsed time to London, done right: the car you drove on Wednesday is in Knightsbridge on Friday.
One honest flag: left-hand-drive requirements, model-year rules, and spec considerations (lighting, Gulf-heat cooling packages) apply to permanent imports. A US-spec or Japan-spec car may need work before RTA passes it. Tell us the exact car and we’ll flag conformity issues before you commit to freight — not after the car lands.
Permanent import to the US is a different conversation. A GCC-spec car entering America permanently faces EPA/DOT conformity rules (with the well-known 25-year exemption for classics). Temporary entries for shows, filming, or racing are routine under the right customs regime. If your plan is permanent US import of a modern GCC-spec car, say so early — that’s a compliance project, not a freight booking.
Insurance travels separately. Marine cargo insurance for the flight (typically 1–2% of declared value) is not the same as road insurance at destination. We arrange the first and remind you about the second — a car cleared in London on Friday needs UK cover before it turns a wheel on Saturday.
The return slot is the scarce one. Everyone flies home in the same three weeks of September. Booking the round trip in spring is the single highest-leverage decision in the entire process.
Dubai has no shortage of forwarders who will quote a car on a pallet. What we run is closer to the private aviation standard the car’s owner already expects:
→ Request a Dubai car air cargo quote — send the car (make/model), destination, and dates. Quotes the same business day; season slots confirmed on payment of deposit.

Typically $15,000–$28,000 per vehicle including enclosed collection in Dubai, export formalities, the flight, UK clearance under temporary admission, and delivery — with door-to-door time of 24–48 hours. Peak-season and short-notice bookings price higher; multi-car movements price lower per unit.
London, Geneva, or Frankfurt: 24–48 hours door to door. US destinations: 2–4 days. The flight itself is 6–8 hours to Europe; the rest is collection, build-up, and clearance on each end.
Yes — under temporary admission, a non-resident owner’s vehicle can stay in the UK or EU for up to six months in a twelve-month period without duty or VAT, provided it’s used by the visiting owner and re-exported in time. We arrange the paperwork before departure and book the September return leg with the outbound flight.
Only for permanent export. For a seasonal move, the car remains UAE-registered and returns to the same plates. Permanent exports require an RTA export certificate and deregistration, plus a bank no-objection letter if the vehicle is financed.
Yes. EVs travel as UN 3171 under IATA dangerous goods rules — reduced state of charge, battery inspection, and a DG declaration — and carrier acceptance is confirmed per routing before we quote.
Primarily Dubai World Central (DWC / Al Maktoum International), the dedicated freighter hub, and Dubai International (DXB), which handles substantial main-deck freighter and belly capacity. We select based on the carrier, aircraft, and your timeline.
Yes — and it’s where the economics improve. Three or more vehicles can share freighter positions or justify a dedicated charter, moving a full garage to Europe as one coordinated lift with one document set per car.
February–April. Outbound capacity for late May and June sells forward, and the September return slots are the scarcest of all. Booking the round trip together in spring secures both and prices better than two separate spot bookings.
